Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

“We,” “us,” and “the Company” mean Sai Priya LLC, including the Student Rent A Car and BasCar Rentals brands. We operate in Dallas and Houston, Texas, and in Iselin, New Jersey. For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@saipriyallc.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to rent you a car and meet our legal obligations:

• Account details: name, email, phone number, and password (handled by our login provider).
• Profile and identity: date of birth, home address, and driver license details.
• Documents you upload: photos of your driver license and, if you bring your own coverage, your insurance card or declaration page.
• Identity and driving checks: results of an identity verification and, for monthly memberships, a driving-history/background review performed by our vetting providers.
• Payment details: handled entirely by our payment processor. We store only a reference and non-sensitive details such as your card brand and last four digits (see Section 4).
• Usage information: basic technical data (device, pages viewed) to run and secure the site.

3. How we use your information

• To create your account and let you browse, configure, and request a vehicle.
• To verify your identity and eligibility, and to have a staff member review and approve your request.
• To process payments, deposits, and recurring monthly charges, and to send receipts.
• To operate, support, and secure the service, and to comply with legal and tax obligations.

4. How we store and protect it

We take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your data:

• Encryption: data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
• Private document storage: your ID and insurance documents are kept in a private storage bucket with no public access. Staff and you can view them only through short-lived, signed links.
• Payment security: your card or bank number never touches our servers or database. Our payment processor (Stripe) collects and stores it in their PCI-DSS Level 1 environment. We only keep a token/reference.
• Access controls and audit logs: staff access is role-based, and actions on customer records are logged.

5. Service providers we share with

We share data only with vendors that help us run the service, and only for that purpose:

• Authentication: Clerk (account sign-in and security).
• Payments: Stripe (card/ACH processing and billing).
• Identity verification: Persona.
• Driving/background checks: our MVR/background provider, for monthly memberships.
• Hosting and data storage: Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database and encrypted file storage).

We do not sell your personal information.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for the period required to meet legal, tax, insurance, and dispute-resolution obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to obtain a copy of it. To make a request, email privacy@saipriyallc.com. We will verify your identity before acting. Some information may be retained where the law allows or requires it.

8. Cookies and visitor counts

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We show a notice on your first visit. We do not use advertising cookies.

We also count page views so we can show how many people are browsing the site. This count is anonymous: we record the page address, the time, and a random number your browser creates for that tab only. That number is not a cookie, is erased when you close the tab, and is never linked to you or your account. We do not store your IP address or device details for this count, and the records are deleted after 30 days.

9. Children

The service is for adults who meet our eligibility requirements. It is not directed to children under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
